元イングランド代表のポール・マリナー氏が68歳で逝去した。
ポール・マリナー氏は1976年から1984年までイプスウィッチのFWとして活躍し、同クラブでは339試合に出場して139ゴールを記録。1978年のFAカップ制覇、1981年のUEFAカップ（現在のヨーロッパリーグ）優勝メンバーの一人としてクラブの歴史に名を刻んだ。イプスウィッチ退団後はアーセナルやポーツマスに活躍の場を移した。
イングランド代表としては1980年の欧州選手権（EURO）や1982年のワールドカップ（W杯）にも参加しており、通算35試合で13得点を挙げた。
